Tell us a bit about yourself
Space fanatic, selected as Times Magazine’s person of the year in 2006 and a chef/baker.
Summarise your role at JUMP
I help build websites as part of the development team, implementing both the front and backend side of the sites.
What got you into web development?
At 15 I watched the Social Network and instantly wanted to build something similar, so at school I created an internal chat room system and went from there.
Describe the project you've worked on that you're proudest of. What did you do that worked out particularly well?
In my second year of university there seemed to be a need for a site that allowed landlords and students to review each other, so I set about building it. Going from design to development and then release was an exciting process for me.
What do you hope to achieve at JUMP?
I hope to further progress in my career as a web developer as well as helping JUMP to the best of my ability.
What do you like most about web development/being a web developer?
You tend to learn new things every day. The way that websites are made is constantly changing with new frameworks and technologies. Researching new tech is an exciting part of the industry.
Finally, what advice would you give to any junior developers starting out?
My advice would be to keep pushing yourself the extra mile. Don’t be afraid to ask for help, everything you ask is important and no question is too small. Always look for new ways to improve technology.
