How do you create a campaign to grab students’ attention
Newcastle University provides world-class education to almost 25,000 students from across the world. With a proud teaching history that dates back to 1834, they have a deep-rooted brand with a distinguished identity. They asked JUMP to develop the overarching advertising campaign to support enrolment throughout 2018. To do this, we produced an emotive and powerful campaign that positioned the University as the place students belonged.
Creating a bold campaign to engage with students
University enrolment and securing students is a hugely competitive marketplace. Increased competition for students necessitated a need to promote the university against other organisations in a more engaging way. We needed to ensure we created a campaign that sold the benefits of the university, city and region to a wide audience.
Choose a University where you ‘belong’
Our solution was a poem which focused on what a prospective student might find and potentially become at Newcastle University. From dreamers and curious minds to future leaders and problem solvers, everyone can find a place where they belong at Newcastle University.
The result was an integrated campaign that included digital advertising, video, social media, outdoor advertising and direct mail used across a range of platforms. The campaign had to work for both the London and Newcastle campuses and featured tailored messaging and imagery for UK and international audiences. The campaign had a dual role to position the university as a world leading establishment and to target the highly competitive undergraduate clearing market.
