The Only Truth Is Music

JUMP worked with Get Carter to develop a new audio library platform to provide access to Get Carter Production’s ever-expanding library of tracks. Named TOTIM, meaning The Only Truth is Music, we were commissioned to create, develop and deliver a distinctive solution that covered both a new brand and website. This needed to be distinct alongside big name competitors and appeal to content creators, animators and more, making it their platform of choice.

A bold brand

It was important that TOTIM stood out in a market with many already established platforms. We came up the concept of ‘cut through the noise’ in direct reference to this, taking inspiration from the shape of a semibreve rest that looked like a chunky, slightly distorted T shape. From this we selected a bold geometric typeface that became the impactful TOTIM wordmark. The bold characteristics of the black and white logo reflected the simple ‘what you see is what you get’ ethos of the platform, as well as reinforcing it as a reliable and trustworthy source of inspiration and audio.

Throwing shapes

Along with the bold logo, we introduced an eye-catching secondary colour palette that added a vibrant personality to the brand assets. The geometric nature of the logo matched well alongside music control symbols with a selection of posters, social media assets and animations being created with play, pause and fast forward symbols reinforcing the musical messaging of the brand. Combined with confident messaging, this made TOTIM stand out as a powerful straight-talking platform.

Membership for all

It was key that the TOTIM website was clear and easy to use, allowing visitors to browse and purchase from the wide range of tracks available. JUMP did extensive UX research to streamline this process, as well as factoring in the ‘no-fuss’ membership offers that make TOTIM stand out from other music platforms. A bespoke account area was developed that allows users to keep track of purchases, manage their membership and buy more credits to use on the site. It was also important that certain features were only available once a user had created an account, which encouraged users to sign up and engage with the platform.

Create with confidence

To allow users to explore the audio library effortlessly, filtering by mood/genre/BPM/length were incorporated into the music page along with a custom soundwave which helps users to match the rhythm of tracks to their creative projects. These were created by loading a sound file sample and drawing the waveform into an HTML canvas. The ability to download and favourite previews and snippets of tracks was another a custom feature developed for the site. Allowing users to test out tracks for their creative projects before purchasing gave TOTIM a unique position in the market, creating the perfect platform to create without limits.
