Luis Dickie, Graphic Designer

Tell us a bit about yourself

Enjoy building up my vinyl collection, practicing photography and finessing the art of meal prep. Occasionally you might find me completing a 5k parkrun.

Summarise your role at JUMP

As a designer, my role is to solve problems using creative solutions.  

How did you get into graphic design?

Art and design has always been something I’ve enjoyed, but it wasn’t until I studied Product Design at A-Level that I realised there was an opportunity for a career in design. After my A-levels, I wanted to expand my horizons and moved on to study Graphic Communication and Design at university. My time at university only cemented my desire to work in design.

Describe the project you've worked on that you're proudest of. What did you do that worked out particularly well?

I’ve only recently joined the JUMP team and I’m still warming up, but I’ve had the opportunity to collaborate on variety of different projects and I can’t wait for what’s next.

What do you hope to achieve at JUMP?

I hope to continue developing my creative thinking, improve my design skills and delve into areas I haven’t explored before.

What do you like most about graphic and web design?

There is no real right or wrong answer in design so seeing a brief interpreted in a variety of ways is always fascinating and in turn how we can always learn from one another.

Finally, what advice would you give to any junior designers starting out?

Question everything and continue learning!
