Preparing ÅND Studios for launch
ÅND Studios is the North East’s first purpose-built, unmanned, bookable fitness and wellness space. ÅND Studios offers a premium environment where personal trainers can train, treat and run their service all on their own terms. They approached JUMP to support the launch of the business through branding, website design, bespoke development and a tailored marketing strategy.
Built around the modern trainer
More than just a physical space, ÅND Studios embodies a new approach to wellness that values freedom, mindset and professional growth. With this in mind, we set out to create a distinctive, marketable brand that felt fresh, energetic and full of life.
A key requirement was ensuring the space felt ownable by the people using it, allowing trainers to retain their individual identity while operating within the ÅND brand. To shape an approach that genuinely reflected the studio’s audience, we spoke directly with people in the industry to better understand what they would want from a space like this, to ensure the brand reflected the audience's values.
Creating a recognisable brand
To help shape the branding direction for ÅND Studios, our design team created a series of moodboards for a collaborative creative process with the client. The client had already established the name ÅND, a Scandinavian word meaning spirit, soul and breath, which became the foundation for the brand concept and creative direction.
Built around the ideas of balance and flexibility, the visual identity used custom curved lettering and generous spacing to create a sense of calm, movement and openness. A neutral colour palette was paired with a vibrant lime accent to bring energy and life into the brand.
During the project, our team visited the studio throughout its renovation as part of the creative process, allowing us to fully understand the space and what we were designing for. The welcoming archway shape at the studio later became a key visual influence, inspiring the mirrored curves used throughout the logo.

The team is fantastic and the process was brilliant. The continued support from them is also greatly appreciated, from the running of the website and any questions I've got whilst getting this start up running!

Curating a specific user experience through website design
The website design focused on creating a light, open and intuitive experience that reflected the atmosphere of the studio itself. Using a clean layout with carefully placed bright accents, we were able to draw attention to key information and calls to action without overwhelming the user experience.
A key focus throughout the project was ensuring users could immediately understand who the website was for and where to go, whether personal trainers, therapists or clients. Through considered copy, clear user journeys and an integrated booking system, the website was designed to make navigation and enquiries as seamless as possible.

Exploring the spaces of ÅND Studios
To help bring structure and personality to the different areas within the building, our team created bespoke icons and names for each space, helping them feel more defined and purposeful. Interactive elements throughout the site, including the “Our Spaces” panel, allowed users to explore the different environments within the studio through subtle hover effects and visual previews.
Alongside the visual experience, the site was supported by bespoke development functionality that allowed ÅND Studios to dynamically add and manage spaces as the business grows. Each space has its own unique booking functionality, with different access rules and capacity. The availability automatically updates for each space based on occupancy and membership permissions.
Delivering a platform built to grow
Rather than relying on off the shelf plugins or booking tools, our development team built a completely bespoke booking and membership system from the ground up, tailored specifically to the needs of ÅND Studios. This allowed the platform to remain streamlined and intuitive, without unnecessary functionality that would complicate the user experience. The system was designed to be flexible and scalable. Features such as advanced booking windows, cancellation limits, account management and a dynamic checkout flow were all developed around the studio’s operational requirements.
Security and convenience were at the forefront of the project. One of the key business aims was to be a unmanned space with seamless and secure access for those meant to be in the space. The website was integrated with a smart lock API that automatically generated unique temporary access codes for approved booking times. Secure Stripe integrations also allowed memberships, subscriptions and payment details to be managed through Stripe-hosted systems, creating a fast, reliable and secure user experience without the need to store sensitive payment information on the website itself.

Creating a strategy for business growth
After a collaborative workshop with the founder, our marketing team developed two marketing strategies for ÅND Studios, supporting their launch campaign activity as well as regular, long-term marketing. The strategies focused on building awareness within the fitness and wellness industry, including influencer activity. The marketing strategy focused on defining key audiences and creating a clear plan for consistent brand communication across digital channels to connect and engage these audiences, encouraging more practitioners and clients to utilise the studio.
A fully integrated creative approach
From branding and website design through to bespoke development and marketing strategy, every stage of the project was designed to support the long-term growth of ÅND Studios. By combining creative thinking with tailored digital solutions, we helped create a brand and platform that not only reflected the vision behind the studio, but also provided the flexibility and functionality needed to support its future goals.
